Xperia Z upgrade issue from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2

I recently had my old xperia z replaced at the sony service center for a defect which had Android 4.2.2 but i got a new replacement Z for the defective one. But this new phone has 4.1.2 and when i try to update 4.2.2 does not show up.

Country : India

Model : C6603
New Serial number : 356535052073231

Old Serial number : 356535051679327

Try updating using pc companion.

Also did you c6603 in india? I had heard somewhere only c6602 is availabe here in the indian market.

If PC Companion says that you already have the latest software for the phone, the update is not yet available for your device. Since you got a replacement I suggest that you contact the store/service center to confirm that you got the right sales kit/replacement.

Yeah the replacement phone is also a C6603. How come it is possible my earlier device received an 4.2.2 update and this one cannot ?

All devices don't get the update at the same time. There are different customization and such affecting the software. For more information see the following thread:

But C6603s in India do not get any updates at all.... I dont think they realise that they have sold any C6603s in India. I also have a C6603 and I have not got any updates.

The way I see it is you return your replaced handset and get a C6602 or Flash your phone with the 4.2.2 roms of other countries.

Hey thanx I got it working by flashing another country ROM now enjoying 4.2.2
