Z2 stuck on foggy screen, Sony PC companion says unlock required

I cannot open my Xperia Z2. It opens but gets stuck on the foggy blank screen. I connected it on pc and tried software update or software repair but it keeps on saying unlock required. Please help. Thank you.

are you sure that it is not a hardware problem?

try to turn off your device and do software repair using Xperia Companion

Hi @AnKeith, let me see if I can help out here.

As @nolramlb mentioned, It might be a good idea to try a software repair. Keep in mind though that since you cannot access the phone, you will need to click on "software repair" with the phone detached from the computer and tick the "My device cannot be detected or started, or is a Smartwatch 3" checkbox and choose "Next". After that you should be able to follow the instructions in Xperia Companion.
