Z1 speaker malfunction?

I can't help noticing there are 2 speaker holes inside the speaker compartment beneath the Z1. The problem is only the right speaker is emitting vibrations when I'm playing songs while the left speaker has no movement. I tried covering the respective speaker and notice that there is no sound produced in the left speaker. is this normal? I had my phone just 2 weeks!

There is no left speaker, only one on the right.

Sony is clearly misleading it's customer! why go the length designing it this way since it only have 1 speaker?

Ever thought that one could be speaker and other mic? they do have to be water proof, unlike normal mic and speaker.

Thanks.... your answer helped me because even i was thinking that it had two speakers and when i went for a swim and took photos under water i thought that one speaker failed because of immersion.

xperia z1 speaker only on bottom right side....??

despite the huge metal grid for speaker on Z1...sound comes only from right side of it......

IS my unit Faulty.......or is this normal because sound quality is total crappy and my neo v is better......

I thought that the Z1 had two speakers at the bottom. A bit deceiving to notice mono functioning on this handset!

For quality sound you use a speaker with internal amplifier and bluetooth.

For example Bose Bluetooth speakers.

Or a HiFi multichannel amplifier with bluetooth and audio decoders onboard.

No one realize that the Z1 Bluetooth profile supports 5.1 multichannel audio ?

it's a smartphone..It doesn't need to have amps. And we want to use the phone as long as possible on a full battery right?

It only needs to store (supported) media files ,or connect to a online service and play / transmit it to a device that is designed to give kickass loud audio output.
