Phone keeps forgetting vibrate mode

Hi all, thanks for your time.

I got my new Xperia z5 compact a week ago, and I'm liking it very much. Apart from the battery life, but that's another story...

What I'm finding frustrating, is that my phone keeps coming out of vibrate mode (for notifications) without me telling it to. My Z1C didn't have this problem, I used to leave that old thing in vibrate mode for days, no issues. Does anyone know of anything that might be causing this? Can't see anything in the settings.

I am running the latest version of the OS.

Also, my personal dictionary (carried over from my old phone via Google) is all messed up. It wouldn't let me add new words on my Z1C, and the problem was the same when I upgraded to this new phone. I thought maybe it ran out of space for words, but telling it to clear the dictionaries didn't do anything - words were all still there. I then cleared them all one by one so I have zero, but the problem is still there. I am using GBoard

Any advice appreciated. Cheers.

The first thing that you should try is to boot in safe mode this will disable any third party apps that could be causing this problem.
