topic System UI in Z Series

Hi all

for the last week or so I have been getting the dreaded "unfortunately system UI has stopped", resulting in a black screen crash (with multiple vibrations). I believe this might be linked to an update to Marshmallow 6.01 (although I have no idea whe this might have happened). Upon reboot the wallpaper photo always disappears. I have tried every suggested remedy suggested by Google searches. Any further help would be much appreciated.

with many thanks
