Hello everybody. My phone or a third party app has changed my phone's screen pattern. I've searched for a week for a solution to reset the pattern, but in vain. No solution is effective. I've accepted the fact that I should repair my phone with either PC Companion or Xperia companion. BUT didn't succeed. For PC Companion an error message appear when initialising. It says Failed to install Sony update engine , ( ERROR 0x803d0020)) try agaib later. I tried many many times but in vain too. I'm alittle bit frustrated. What can I do? I also tried Xperia companion . There is also an error saying: ( Software repair error. An error occured while repairing your device. Please try again. If the problem persists, please contact Sony support. I tried many many times ,but the same error message appears.) Please ANYONE wh has a solutioin or an idea. Thanks in advance.

Hello again. I'm still trying with PC companion and Xperia companion but same error messages appear. I've got another question. Is there any other software to repair z2- similar programs like xperia companion and PC C? Thanks again.

I'm still trying with xperia companion and pc companion, but in vain. I'm still waiting - HERE- for a reliable support, but nothing till now. No one in this forum has a reasonable solution. No one has ever come to such a situation and has a solution. For more than a week my phone is not working because of forgetting the pattern, and I'm WAITING and WAITING and WAITING for some help, but didn't get it till now. I still have a hope that someone may tell me about a solution. THANKS.

Don't use PC Companion at all, it was discontinued. Use only Xperia Companion, and if it keeps giving you errors then I'd suggest uninstalling it, restarting your PC, the re-install.

You can also try finding another PC/laptop and install Xperia Companion on it, maybe something is causing incompatibility on your current one.

Other minor factors to consider are ensuring there's enough battery on phone, using a proper internet connection, using different USB cable, or connecting to different USB port on your PC/laptop

If I remember correctly, I encountered a similar issue with PC Companion installation. You should try installing some other version (whichever you can find).
