I also had this problem where only certain names would appear in caller ID. It had to do with the format of the number as gregoryopera noted. This only started happening after the update a few months ago. (on my Xperia Z5 Compact)

Hallo everyone,

I have an Z5 compact and for a while now almost every call that comes in only shows a number, no ID. Same thing in the caller's list. The only ones that are shown are the ones I added after the problem started. I tried things i read online like checking the application's authorized access but to no avail.

Does anybody have an idea? It's quite frustrating to never know who's calling and try to guess by their first 5 words...

Best regards,

lalelu

Try making sure the numbers showing on incoming calls/messages are in the same format as what you are using in your address book, @Lalelu912.

For example, if "Caller 1" is showing on-screen as +61 12 3456 7890, then it should be stored in your address book as +61 12 3456 7890... If however, "Caller 1" is shown as 12 3456 7890, then you should store it in your address book as 12 3456 7890.

See if that helps.
