No paperclip icon on keyboard/can't attach pictures.

Long story short. I just bought a Z3, it's the "SO-01G" variant, but I'm using it in the US. Everything is working fine, accept there is no way to attach a picture using the stock keyboard (international keboard) and messanger. No paperclip icon on the keyboard. I downloaded Textra and then an attachment icon appears on the stock keyboard.. but I don't like Textra, I want to use the stock keyboard/messanger combo. I cannot find any settings to add the paperclip icon to the keboard. I was able to add the micrphone icon, which I use all the time for tap-to-talk, but can't find any setting for attachment icon.

when you tap on the input box, at the bottom you should be able to see the icons to add pictures, stickers, location, voice, etc.

take a screenshot and post it here

Input box? I don't see anything at the bottom. I can't post pics right now, at work, but will try asap.

the white rectangle where you tap so the keyboard will appear.

No white rectangle When I open stock messenger app, it opens to the last conversation I was having. At the bottom is the empty box with a flashing curser, I tap the empty box and the keyboard pops up..

open the app > open an ongoing conversation > take a screenshot > black out names and any private info > post it here.

I have none of those options. Perhaps because my phone is a Japenese variant? Makes little sense though?

For the record. I already reset the phone to factory default and this time did not let anything update, not the Sony software or Android or any apps. When I first bought it a few days ago I updated everything. Right now the phone is compeltely stock, no third party (other than ones that came stock) apps downloaded, only APN updated.

Furthermore, if I take a picture then click the "share" icon, a list of apps opens for me to choose from, inexplicably the messaging app is not one of them.

However, I beleive it was updated to a newer version when I first set up the phone. Had the problem then, that's why I reset the phone to default factory settings, to see if that helped.. it didn't.

You could maybe flash a different firmware or see if you can sideload a different messaging app

Thanks. Have no interest in installing a third party messaging app. The stock one should work. I'm sending the phone back.
