Hello,

I bought my Sony Xperia Z1 about 3 weeks ago and recently I have started having problems with battery life (since about 2 days). When I have received my phone everything was good with battery, I discharged the phone till it turned off and then charged it back to 100% several times. The problem with the battery that I have is that it dies pretty quickly. For example when I went to sleep one night the battery was on around 98% and the next morning I woke up it was on about 30% which is just ridiculous. Before the problems with the battery there battery only dropped down by 2%, and now it suddenly started dropping by 50% or more. I really don't know what to do, I was thinking about exchanging it as it is still on the warranty and also my father has exactly the same phone and he hasn't got any problems with the battery. So if you could help me somehow, if you can of course, because I don't want to exchange as it will take a while before I get it back.

Thanks a lot

it seems that indeed there are apps using your data and/or wifi while Idle, you could check the list and see which apps are doing so

ill upload my graph shortly to take a look. i use it quite heavily throughout the day. with wifi and data at various intervals.. but as woolie said.. if you really want to juice the battery you need to turn off all the apps that run in the background using the data while your screen is off.

The apps that are using my data (even though its off) are: Android System, Android OS, and McAfree Security. Not sure if that's what you were asking.

Oh, and also what does "idle" mean ?

Well the thing that I was worried about is that I lost about 50% throught the night with everything off and I didn't use it. I don't think that is normall at all. That happened twice already and today the battery was dying pretty quickly as well.

idle means when youre not actively using your phone... also you dont really need an antivirus.. to be honest it is one of the most overated programs on the android phones these days... if you use your phone smartly you should be safe from 99.9% of anything!

just regarding this, maybe you can try turning on stamina mode and see if that helps..

http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z-ZL-ZR/STAMINA-mode-explained/m-p/314643/highlight/true#M6296

I have it on mine and it does help quite a bit. t

The drop that you are referring to might be just the wifi and mobile signals since they were active at that time...

Well, I had STAMINA Mode on for the whole time, and the first drop on the graph that you see on the graph was during night when it dropped around 50%. I disabled STAMINA Mode for now, because I've read that it may actually not help as much so I wanted to check if that's true in my case. Currently I am charging my phone, as it died at about 4pm today, and I will see how its going to go through night.
