After recent Android/Sony update Xperia Z3C no longer fast charges.

Originally ~2%/1min but now ~1%/2min.

(two independent phones with independent chargers same issue).

Do the handsets do the same thing in safe mode? Do they charge any faster?

Yes.

On further investigation I can confirm the issue is with the magnetic charge port. (Software issue from Sony/Android)

So if you charge it with the USB charger it is normal?
