xperia z1 shut down, wont start up

My z1 shut down on its own with half battery and wasn't doing anything special just texting and facebook. It wouldn't turn on so did a hard reset and it came on, i plugged it into the computer to see about any updates to fix it. It started to do an update then turned off again and will not turn back on even after a hard reset, when on charge it repeatedly turns on, the sony logo appears then says, software update failed. make sure your phone is connected to a computer and try again. i plug it into a computer and nothing happens at all not even the repeated message. Any ideas, have i done something wrong, i only had the phone a couple of weeks what a letdown.

press and hold power & volume up until the phone is off then connect it to a wall charger for 40min or so > repair it with SUS > do not turn on your phone, also remove the SIM and SD cards

it's back up, it didnt start up at first but i took it out to see if i plugged it into the computer it would work, it did start to connect but nothing happened so i disconected the phone and it started up. wierd and i hope i wont repeat this problem because for what people pay for these it's not really good enough especially after the old z phone's problems. Thanks for the help

i had the same problem and i just followed the steps as shown in the sus. but the phone is still gettin shtu down on regular basis again and again and wont charge

Same here ad followed the instructions as above (SUS) and worked well.

Same exact symptoms as the OP. I was using pc companion to transfer numbers when it happened me.

thanks my z1 compct turned off no reason i could not turn on so i loook here i hold off button and volume same time and was resolved thank people

i did upgrade my xperia z1 and then suddenly it off. and wont start again. i've tried the hard restart but screen still blank. could anyone help me with this?

hi, im having the same problem. i press vol+ and power button and all it does is turn off but when i release the buttons it keeps restarting again.

Hi, I have the same problem as yours. I've tried every combination nothing happened when I charge my phone it won't charge also, it just shows the led red light. I plug it anf leave for almost 9hours but still the same the led light is still red so meaning even a single percent of batery won't charge.. Anyone can help me? thanks...

this happened to me and to fix this, you need to change the battery of your phone by opening it up and replacing it.

it happenned to me and you could also it when when you fully recharge your phone, however the battery is not strong enough to operate phone so it just won't boot up. instead just change battery. its weird but thats how i fixed my phone

Hey guys, i have and Xperia Z1 who shut down by itself and wont boot up i gave tried the two options volume key up and down with holding power .

Both options didnt work i pluged in the power but the indicator led is not working

any suggestions please
