Calculating internal storage

Every time I try to view a breakdown of space used on my internal storage, it doesn't finish calculating. I have left it on overnight but have had no luck, with it still failing to load by the morning. Any suggestions?

I'm sorry to hear about this.

I just want to make sure that I fully understand the behaviour that you are experiencing. Is it correct that neither of "options" will show you the amount of space they are using on the internal storage? For example, after a while you can see that Apps is using x amount of GB's on the internal storage but Android System is still waiting on being calculated?

I would recommend that you start with rebooting your phone in safe mode. By doing this we can see if a third party application that you have installed in your phone is the cause of this, since these type of applications won't be loaded while the phone is rebooted in safe mode.

Hi Jonas,

Thanks for your suggestions. None of the categories listed under internal storage ever finish calculating. I have restarted the phone in safe mode, however, I had the same problem and it never got beyond calculating the amount of storage used so at least that rules out it being a problem with a third party app.

Thanks for the update and for the very precise information, much appreciated!

I'm afraid that there isn't much else to try apart from performing a software repair using Xperia Companion. Do note that this will delete all data stored on the internal storage in your phone and reinstall the latest available software so creating a backup using Xperia Companion before starting with the repair is advised!
