Finger Print Sensor Not Working Xperia 10

Anyone had any issues or offer any solutions to an unresponsive finger print scanner on the Xperia 10 as it has completely stopped working.

And I'm not talking about prints not recognised, or having to clean it or anything like that. It literally does not register an input.

I had a look in the fingerprint log already, and if you try to add a new scan it instantly tells you that it has times out. I've tried a hard reboot and it had no effect.

Anyone else have the same issues? I'm slightly annoyed as the phone is less than a year old, has spent its life in a case, has never been dropped, and has no damage or scratches on it.
