Forgot my lock screen pin

Because of a reboot i now need my pin (otherwise I use my finger). Now it's locked and I cant reset it I really need the data on it!! Please help

Hi @blackspell, Welcome to the community. I am sorry to hear about this

If you restart your phone you will always need to enter your PIN for the first time, then you will be able to use your fingerprint until you next restart it.

If you have forgotten your PIN you can try to reset it by going to myxperia.com if you signed up for it.

Otherwise, to remove your PIN you will need to perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. This process will erase all your data however.

well thank you for the reply but the myexperia page is completely useless. If i try to lock my phone and enter a new pin (eg 111111) i get an error message, something like ''please enter your present password to lock your phone''. so i cant use the page and I dont want to lose my data

if you don't remember the PIN then I'm afraid there's not much you can do without wiping the phone. it's supposed to be a security measure, after all, to make sure that no one gets to access your data without your permission.
