I bought brand new phone x compact and on warranty care it says valid until 1/12/2018 but i activated today?

@question_11 the date you see is just indicative, I suggest you to contact your Local support as @uliwooly advised however the warranty period start the day you buy your device so be sure to have a copy of your receipt/invoice.
