Indeed there is a need for extra taps which can be seen as a security measure so you don't enable it accidentally, but worth forwarding your feedback to your Local support.

I'll also try to escalate this.

Nougat: Quick settings menu - more harm than good

The new update has pretty much ruined my easy use of the pull-down menu (and giving hardly any overall benefit in return). While allowing 5 shortcuts for the most important functions, it has made unnecessarily stupid changes that impedes user experience:

- Mobile data now cannot be turned on/off with one press as that now shows data usage, and to turn on/off one must press another button, now in the very top-right corner of the screen. Super annoying. And also inconsistent, as wifi and hotpost can still be activated with one press.

- The menu now holds only 9 tiles, while the last version the 10 important ones. So now, for using of those 10, e.g. Bluetooth, an extra swipe is needed.

- Volumes can no longer be changed here! (why oh why remove this?!)

- As someone mentioned a bit earlier, pulling the menu down once only shows the date, not the time. And as I added to his post, even when it does show both eith a second pull, thet are too close and look muddled.

If these issues have been raised before, or if I'm mistaken or overlooked something(s), please comment. Cheers.

MOBILE DATA TURN ON/OFF PROCESS

Is there a way to turn ON/OFF mobile data simply like Android Marshmallow ?? After Upgrading to Nougat I have a extra step i.e. Visit quick settings > click on mobile data icon then a page appears where I have to set ON/OFF. It was very easy and quick in Android Marshmallow...Things in quick sttings should require minimum input from user else no use of quick settings.

Android 7.0 on Xperia X it's the most performant Sony mobile device I ever had and it has gaps of loading various apps, and system apps as even for Contacts, poor Album app performance visualizing photos. It was the most astonishing device I ever had until I made the upgrade to Android 7.0

I like 7.0 so much better on Xperia X performance.
Why would someone need to quickly turn off and on mobile data? I don't follow

Hey Ihmetys, from reading your post and others, and as I came from an Xperia Z3 to a Moto Z Play, it seems that Sony changed their notification shade to a more "Pure Android" look, (even though Sony's take was already really close) as when I first started using the 'Z Play' I was annoyed at having to do that as well but you eventually get used to it.

It doesn't show the date. Only the time which is annoying and needs to be slided further to see the date.

Now I don't mind how close they are but please show the date (& preferably time) on the first swipe down.

Most of us already have a clock on the home screen so we don't need to see the 'time' again on the first swipe.

Thanks

They made swithing mobile data on/off so complicated, and it was already working perfect. There are so many people working at Google/Sony and I'm surprised that not a single person will stand up and say "what we're doing is so wrong, we must stop". Sometimes I think they make such things on purpuse, so in the next Android version then can say that they were succesful to have simplified a feature.

This is a reply to my earlier post.

I bought a Samsung Note 8, even though I was discouraged to Samsung after Galaxy S4.

Fist thing I noticed after starting a phone was how easy it was to turn on data transfer. Pull down quick settings menu and tap data transfer. Thats' it. How obvious, how easy. I wonder why Sony has decided to complicate it in Z5 or X .

Out of curiousity - has it changed in Oreo?
