Hi @aj2703, thanks a lot for your question!

I'm afraid that there is no setting to set a different ring tone for the second SIM card. The ring tone that you choose will be used when receiving calls on both SIM cards in your phone.

This is due to a limitation on platform level from our platform supplier.

It is not platform level as samsung still have the option.

Then you should inform whomever that the information they are giving you is wrong.

Seriousily have can you know which sim had an incoming call if its the same tone.

Totally stupid.

Please escalate this up the chain until someone who sees it can make a proper investigation as to why such a stupid decision was made.

Samsung uses a heavily modified Android version, and that might be why their phones have that feature. Sony tends to stick closer to stock Android, and it's very possible that's the reason the phone doesn't include that option.

If that is true then Sony need to address the problem with their phones and include the option.

Right now I am torn between the S8+ or the XZ Premium. I am leaning twoards the S8+ because of the lack of a second ringtone on the Sony.

If it had the second ringtone it would be the sony.

You know if you use the correct dialer/contacts app that you can assign a different ringtone on a per person basis. As for having a different one per SIM... why does it matter which SIM is receiving the call if they are both active at the same time? I do not understand why this is important?

Hello again, I'm sorry for the late reply I have been out of office due to vacation!

I will make sure to forward your feedback internally regarding that you can't set a different ring tone for the second SIM card.

As @StanleyKubrick recommended, if you for example have certain contacts that only contacts you on your first or second SIM card you can set a different ring tone for these contacts in the Contacts application.

Start with opening the Contacts application > tap on the contact you want to edit > tap the pen icon > 3 dots in the top right corner > Set ring tone.
