It seems like image persistence.

There's some videos on YouTube you can play that claim to help speed up the process. I had it happen with my TV once and used such a video and it seemed to do the trick.

XZs ghosting / burn in

I've noticed that the display of my XZs shows some ghosting or burn in effects. It's obvious when I check the grey screen in the service menu. Especially the on screen keys and the status bar.

I changed my device in the market but the other one is exactly the same. Is this a common issue with XZs (never had this before on any Xperia)?

You cannot post a video here, or am I missing something?

Anyway I made a pic, at the moment it is not that obvious, but if you look closely you'll notice it. A little bit of backlight bleeding on the top as always by the way...

With lcd displays, it's called "image persistence"

Luckily, unlike amoled, It goes away as pixels change in that location.

Thank you for your quick response!

But do you think it goes away like forever over time? 'Cause sometimes it gets better, but if I use an App with the on screen buttons it gets worse again...

Never experienced it with any lcd/Xperia before...

It goes away with regular use,

Only if static image is 24/7 will it become stuck on the crystal memory.

It's been around on lcd since beginning, only recently becoming visible with 1080p condensed displays.

Thanks again for your help!

But it gets worse over time so I send it in for repair but they couldn't find anything. What is reasonable if the device isn't used under daily conditions. So maybe I use my old Xperia X with the same display tech but without ghosting, so I still don't think that it's normal. On top of that it still has double tap to wake
