Can you check your sound settings>Sound

Try to select other sound

Hi @Chooka, let me see if I can help out here!

Find and tap Settings > Apps & notifications > Show all apps > Messages > Notifications. In this menu, make sure that the notifications are set to be shown. Also try tapping the section called "Other notifications" followed by "Behaviour" and make sure that it is set to make sound and pop up on screen.
