topic Android Auto in XZ Series

Anybody having problems connecting to their Andoid-Auto capable vehicle? My car requires a USB connection and sees the Xperia XZ2 as a device to charge, but no longer recognizes it as an Android Auto device. I've swapped USB cords, turned on USB debugger, and tried everything I can find online to troubleshoot. It's a new 2019 car and Android Auto worked fine for about 6 weeks and then stopped working. Could this be caused by the recent Xperia software upgrade?
