I have used my XZ Premium phone for 15 months under Android 8. Recently, I upgraded it to Android 9. After a few hours later, I discovered the phone is rebooted automatically and sometimes prompted with the message " apps keep on stopping " for Play Stores, Chinese keyboard, etc. When I go to the customer support centre in HK, they suggest me to reset the phone with factory data reset as they said it may cause crashing problem with apps after the upgrade. But, problem still exists after the reset. Then, I phoned to customer service hotline and I was suggested to do a software recovery using Xperia Companion. It works only for 24 hours approximately. Then, I went to the Centre again and I am suggested to do one more time for software recovery and then do the start up using a blank new SD card. This works for about 3 days only. After that, the phone keeps on reboot and can only be switched off by pressing the shutdown button and the volume button together.

So, after all, I brought my phone to the customer service centre and request a repair. The result is that it is required to replace the main board of the phone. I am worried that even the main board is replaecd, same problem will occur though they said they have 90 days warranty. I am not happy that I was asked to replace the main board with the root cause identified.

My questions are:

1. Why the reboot probem occur after upgrading from Android 8 to 9? Have someone encountered this problem before? or Is there any similar experience that I can share with? The customer service centre said that no one elase had reported such problem.

2. Why such upgrade will cause hardware malfunctioning (If Sony can restore my phone back to Android 8, this can prove this is a purely a hardware problem. But Sony cs said they cannot do that.)
