Fast charging message not displayed

I got my new xz and upon using the charger and another qualcomm certified 3.0 fast charger, the mobile is not charging fast even the message is only charging

The message will not say fast charing like other manufacturers phones. SONY should make this fixed in software update ( please )

But if you have a proper SONY UCH12W it will fast charge ( I know because I have one )

I have the same problem. I bought an anker and another brand charger certified to quick charge 3.0 and nothing but the usual slow charging happened. What to do?

Get a battery management app like GSam battery monitor. That will allow you to monitor your charging and discharging amperage rates. The XZ will not notify you that it is fast charging, it just does it. When you see charge rates upwards of 1.8-2.2amps on a 3000mah battery, that's fast charging. Any time you charge a lithium battery faster than .5c, or half the capacity per hour (1500mah for a 3000mah battery) that is considered fast charging.

at what level are you charging the device.? if you are charging it from 0-80%?.. it might say fast charging but remember from 80% onwards the charger will slow down .

also try to use stock or pre installed themes

you can also time your charging when you are safe mode

My XZ can go from 0-50% in half an hour on the stock charger, which is fast charging in my book. It gives me a sufficient boost to last several hours

I agree with Sunking101, I got the same charging rate with stock charger.. Therefore what's the advantage of third party charger when what you have can already do it fast.. What's the desired charging rate do you want with such additional accessories..?

True, even in my xz1 which is running oreo, it doesn't show as well. I have the Zenfone2 before and I would know if it is fast charging when there's a + sign after the lightning icon. Even if the current xperias or maybe OS doesn't have this, and its not a big issue, it is sure a nice feature to know whether the charger is fast charging or not especially when you forgot your own sony charger and had to borrow from your friend's.

Regarding the charging of mine, I have no problems. It actually goes up 1% every (atleast 1min and 20sec) even while browsing.

This is the one I have. I got it with my x performance. I think this one only supports QC 2.0. You can tell by the little lightning bolt.

There's newer ones now that support QC 3.0 I think the model number is uch12.

I used wellcomm fast charging 3.0 adaptor and combined it with baseus type C cable for QC 3.0 it may took only around 30 mins from<5% till about 75%..but the rest to is considered much slower, it may take around 20 mins...So, is it considered as fast charging??Once I observed it if the battery hits below 5% the charging rate so rapid, about 2% per mins, but when it hits 75% its charging rate 35%-40% slower...Is it normal?? Nb: I Never charge it while the phone's shutdown..

An xperia compact xz2 should be compatible. But I don't see it fast charging.

should i see it?
