Hi,

It does affect it (most likely because wifi and bluetooth work in the same frequency. I understand switching wifi to 5GHz (if that's an option for you) should help. The environment and orientation of the devices also play a role in the quality of transmission.

Also, changing between "Sound quality" and "Best effort" wontw affect the headphones. You may disable LDAC altogether by switching the sound mode in the headphones themselves. (switching the headphones on by pressing the NC button too. Check the user guide for details). Disabling LDAC in the same headset will set standard Bluetooth by default.

It should be noted, the best quality of sound is only achieved by using the headphones plugged in. Take advantage of your XZ's DSEE HX

Ldac affecting WiFi?

Hi! I have had my xz since November 2016, and I recently bought a Sony mdr-1000x which is Ldac compatible. The audio is flawless, and the Bluetooth works just fine. The problems start occurring if I wanna watch a video or stream some music (which isn't downloaded on the device already) with the headphones connected. This is the scenario: I'm laying on the couch, no headphones connected: video buffers normally, with no buffer-interrupts. I start using my mdr-1000x with LDAC on, and the video constantly has to stop to buffer. I tried both LDAC-modes; performance and quality, but the same result. To me, this seems an awful lot like a bandwidth issue, but since many advertisements of the phone include discounts on the mdr-1000x, they should work flawlessly together, shouldn't they?
