Xperia xz1 freezes after pie update

I have been facing freeze problem with my xz1 since after February 2019 patch update and the phone just doesn't respond at all during the freeze and I am left with a black screen for few seconds after which it automatically starts responding please take this under consideration .. Further another issue that I am regularly facing is continuous network drop...

Sony all our phones because they launched xperia 1 and 10 now i can't simply use my phone because Sony wants to make more money ? i spent 700 dollars on my phone 1 year ago and now i need ti buy new one? if they don't fix this witch happens with their smartphones i'l never buy a sony product and will tell whole my 6520 followers to do the same. The most interesting fact is that they can't downgrade in an official service my phone back to android 8 and i made it at home and now my bro have a great phone and send Sony in to the hole. I wait android 10 if he will not fix everything ii will instal a custom firmware and I'll be happy.

I'm sorry to hear that, I can't recreate the issue with my XZ1, could you provide more info? Also, since it is a major update it'll be wise to reinstall it with Xperia Companion to smooth things out

you should do the same @Madbear and please, do not spread misinformation, this is a user based forum, we are here to help each other, and treats/extortion that you will let your #### of followers know your "opinion" not a fact, it's not the way to go.

The freeze problem that I have seen so far is not very frequent but it seems to happen but no intervals can be quoted at this moment,perhaps the lock key stops responding as many users have this problem. however the network problem is so consistent that it can't be ignored either the xperia xz1 has a design issue which interfere with the antenna bar or perhaps a bug whatever is it Sony should solve it asap...

Have you reinstalled the latest update with XC as suggested?

Keep an eye on what triggers it, if possible test the phone in safe mode for several hours, see if you experience the same.

On a side note @Madbear it is misinformation to say that Sony released buggy updates to force users to buy new devices, that's not accurate.

Okay finally got it the phone keeps restarting after I am done calling also on whatsapp calling the phone freezes ..

This information is to the best of my knowledge and testing so far...

Further I searched for it and saw that others are also complaining about the same problem

So the random reboots continues they aren't associated only to calling, freeze and restart freeze and restart many times a day

Very disappointed in the fact since the update this phone not only freezes but starts to over heat. Now I am a service tech and I've reset and re done the device in safe mode and I found there is issues in the pie software that causes the problems. The core of the device and the running software is not fully compatible. The bugs set in the firmware is causing the device to crash. So the software needs re run and ironed out. This may be a money making issue for Sony but I'm far from impressed and would love to hear from Sony

I had my Xperia XZ1 in Android pie for nearly a year and haven't had any issues.

I think the problem might be caused by a third party app.

Try to do a Factory reset or a Software repair via XC
