It looks similar to white line noise issue reported by other users.

Backlight Bleeding: A LCD Problem

The entire surface of a LCD panel is backlit from behind by a light source (CCFL or LED) and the LCD blocks out the light that is not needed when displaying a particular image. Backlight bleeding most commonly occurs when this light is not 100% blocked, allowing excess light to "bleed" around the edges of the LCD panel. This backlight bleeding issue leaves spots of lighter areas on a dark or black background.

No, not always it's a Quality control problems ...

I am having the same for a while, I just let it be, however, now the VERY Top part of my touch screen is not responding to my touch. which means notification I am not able to watch due to not able to pull down the notification...

I tried to Remove the Sim card and Clear phone cache, both no luck, now doing the Software repair via Xperia Companion (Mac) hope it works out.

@bthq if you still have the problem after the software repair, check if you're able to pull down the notification pane in landscape mode. if you'll be able to do that while still being unable to pull it down in vertical mode, then it's probably a hardware issue 😕

after reseting FOUR times, I am able to pull over few time only. Sometime it automatically came down and go up then down again, however, in landscape mode it is okay. seems mostliky its the hardware issue. only bought for 1 month, come on, I sure i didnot drop it... I am not goona to by song phone any more......

@bthq have you tried contacting local support? it might be just a faulty unit and the repair would be then covered by warranty.

There will already be dodgy hardware from factory. Exploding Note7 for example. It will be a hardware fault and will be covered by warranty.

No, only old LCD panel has screen bleeding issue..latest lcd tech don't have this issue (IPS-NEO) . only sony devices has this issue other companies using better lcd tech like IPS-NEO that reduce light bleed and showes true black !

It's intersting that X compact and XZ don't have light bleed issue at all but latest and greatest SONY phone the" XZ premium" has this issue ...(but not as bad as Z5)

I haven't sent to the local party since I bought this handset from Hong Kong, but I am not in..... need to wait until next time I go and visit Hong Kong ...

No offense to anyone in this thread but sometimes I wonder if we're taking every little issue too seriously while Samsung had to withdraw all Note7 from market and make the phone unchargable to prevent people from buying it from black markets as the majority didn't even care about an explosive device.in their hands.

XZP is a premium device..it is sony's latest and greatest flagship.also it has a premium and expensive price! This kind of annoying issues with the display is NOT acceptable at all !

SONY MUST USE latest LCD tech in their flagship and even mid-ranger if they want to survive in mobile market !
