Text message alert will not change

Hello

Despite what i set my alert sound to in settings - sounds - Notification sound

every time i recive a text message I get this really long one minute orchestra style sound that goes on and on

for whats app it works fine and I get the alert i want.

Can someone please help me change it as it is getting very annoying
