    <description>&lt;P&gt;As described above a factory reset restored my service for a few days, then it went out again. I emailed Sony support describing the problem in detail and including a link to this thread, and got back a useless cut-and-pasted reply suggesting that I make sure my phone is activated with Verizon Wireless. I took matters into my own hands again and used the Windows software to perform a software repair, and interestingly it reverted to an earlier firmware version, 52.0.A.3.126, instead of version .163 which I had updated to a few weeks ago. So far so good, we'll see if it lasts. I did receive another email from Sony after I complained about how unhelpful the first one was, and this one was slightly more personalized, but just suggested trying to do a software update.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Overnight, my xz2 compact can no longer connect to Verizon network.&amp;nbsp; Tried factory reset, repair with the Xperia companion app, and the SIM card works in other phones.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;During the setup after the factory reset, connection and data worked.&amp;nbsp; The last step asked me to download network data to optimize my connection. I have no option but to accept and that's when I lose connection to Verizon network.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I'm having the same problem, first noticed midday today but possibly starting yesterday, that I can't connect to the Verizon network at all. I spent a while on the phone with VZW tech support and nothing helped, including swapping SIMs with another working (Samsung) phone. He had me reset network settings, but I haven't done a full factory reset yet (and if I can I'd prefer not to). My next shot was going to be calling Sony.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I went through this today. The online Verizon rep walked me through activating the SIM card and nothing was working. The factory reset did the trick, but now I have to go back and reset all my stuff.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I just now did a factory reset and it seems to have fixed it too. I tried to back up as much as I could with the Xperia backup tool and Helium Backup, so hopefully restoring things won't be too tough.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I'm fighting the same issue.&amp;nbsp; Thought I had some success this morning rebooting in safe mode.&amp;nbsp; Had service again while in safe mode, however, after switching back to normal it's gone again.&amp;nbsp; And now switching to safe mode doesn't help.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;What the **bleep**!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'm in the same boat!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I noticed yesterday morning on the way to work...but just now went to the Verizon store and got a new SIM...nothing.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I tried the safe mode and that didn't work for me.&amp;nbsp; I guess I am backing up and preparing for a factory reset.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Verizon must have done something if all of us had the same exact issue at the same time.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Factory Reset did the trick for me as well.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Not too happy with that though...but better than having to go through warranty or insurance to get another phone.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Same issue! Phone stopped recognizing my sim card yesterday and wouldn't let me connect to verizon's network. I even replaced the sim card&amp;nbsp; - no luck. Just did a factory reset, which fixed the problem but very much not idea. This is actually the second time this has happened to me. Had to factory reset that time too. (For what it's worth, booting in safe mode didn't help me out either time, which suggests to me this isn't an app issuee.)&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am having the identical problem with my phone as well, I just spent an hour on the phone with Verizon and they have little to no information about this phone. It has to be the latest version of the xperia firmware update. My sim card works fine in my old phone. The mobile data and call connectivity dropped at about 9pm pst today 2/6/2018. Safe mode does not change it and I did a network reset as well. Only thing I have left to do is a factory reset and turn off auto updates. I wish I could revert back to the december firmware update that allows you to access the sim card.&amp;nbsp; This is beyond dissapointing because I don't have a land line and this is my business phone.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Same issue here.&amp;nbsp; Activated a newly purchased XZ2 Compact on 1/31/18 and all was perfect until I entered an area of weak/no service.&amp;nbsp; After the phone disconnects from the mobile network, it will not reconnect unless a factory reset or software repair is performed.&amp;nbsp; I have been able to duplicate this issue several times.&amp;nbsp; Fortunately I am able to return this phone to the retailer for a full refund.&amp;nbsp; It's a shame because I otherwise would be very happy with it.&amp;nbsp; Maybe I will purchase again if/when Sony corrects this issue.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The problem has come back again for me, suddenly yesterday evening without any obvious trigger or cause. I'm assuming I'll need to do another factory reset to correct it, which obviously isn't acceptable. I'm planning to call Sony support, but I expect they'll either tell me to do a reset or want to replace the phone, when it seems like the problem is more widespread. Does anyone have any ideas for how to engage Sony or Verizon engineers who can actually investigate what's happening?&lt;/P&gt;</description>
