Hi

Because i'm maybe one step further with this but still looking for help concerning exactly the described behaviour, i will share my previous experiences with you.

First scenario (2 months ago):The 3 buttons are not working. It's impossible to turn the phone off. The display turns on when attaching the usb and everything works as usual. But as soon as the display turns off there is no chance to light it again without the wire. It's not possible to perform any hw-manipulation because all interfaces are kind of shut down...

Then performed a factory reset inside android (by using the usb) but still the same. Because I was unable to fix i sent it to the repair center. When the phone returned after 2 weeks everything was normal and the repair center just remarked that it was a sw-problem and fixed with factory reset.

2nd scenario (don't do this) Today it was the same technical issue. But this time I've tried another approach and now it's the worst case...

I connected the phone with my pc and used xperia companion to backup the phone and then use the sw repair feature (update was no option because it was already) as the display was still working. But when the sw-repair finished, the phone shut down. The next advice from companion is to push a specific button and restart the phone... but there is no button! This means the phone stays off and no chance to get it on again. When charging by usb the sony logo and the battery status appear on the display for a few seconds. That's it.

So how did the repair center fix it the first time? Do they have any special sw access to perform a scratch install or something that I dont have ?

What did you guys do finally?

I will enjoy the silence tonight and contact the repair center again tomorrow...

EDIT 2018-11-30: The phone is back from the repair center. Same thing, everything works fine. It was just a SW issue and solved with a reinstall of the OS (...that I am not able to perform, just the repair center does).

I really hope this was the last time because the costs on all side run out of profitability already . This means next time i will insist on a final solution -> new phone!

Seemingly without a reason the three touch buttons at the bottom (triangle, house and square) stopped working. This means that I cannot access the home screen nor can I exit or switch between apps.

If that doesn't work try restarting the device in safe mode to discard any third party app acting. As last resort you can try to repair the phone software with Xperia Companion.
