Problems with screen lighting

Few days ago I encountered following problem with the screen in my xperia xz 1compact

When I am calling the screen turns into black and I can't even stop a call since the screen is totally dark and doesn't react to any moves what could happen and how to solve it?

Hi @Jacekw82;

Check if you have anything blocking the proximity sensor, if not try also test it in the Support app (bottom right menu and select the ear proximity test).

I have tested it and I guess the ear proximity doesn't work correct

this is the issue, i believe

It is really annoying case since I can not stop calling beacuase of frozen screen

If you don't have anything blocking the proximity sensor there is also the possibility of a software issue.

You can try first restart your phone in safe mode to discard any third party app acting, if the result is the same, as last resort you can do a software repair with Xperia Companion.
