Iam using The sms app messages that comes with Android.

Is there a setting to automatically save mms/images to gallery?

I got many sms conversations that goes back years in time. How can I automatically save all mms/images from those?

This is not specific for Xperia.

Just Google, think you will find your solution there.

Hi @Sleber, let me see if i can give you an answer here.

There is no setting in the pre-installed application for SMS that allows you to save MMS automatically to your internal storage. And also no available option to mark more pictures at once and save them simultaneously. You will be needed to do this one by one for all pictures.
