In order to check this out, please find and tap Settings > Tap Support > Tap Xperia Tests > Tap the test called "Touchscreen".

Another thing that you can try is to reboot your phone in safe mode. All apps downloaded from Play Store is temporarily deactivated in safe mode and by doing this you can see if there is a downloaded app that is causing the area at the top not responding. To find out more about safe mode and how to use it click here.

If none of these measures manages to improve the response of the display i would suggest that you try to perform a software repair using Xperia Companion and a computer. Just make sure that you have made a backup before performing the repair since the repair will erase all user data.

Try these measures and let me know how it goes!

If i may just send the screen shoot of the touchscreen test so you cold see for yourself the problem, (and worth mentioning that for very short period of time works a bit and than stops again i mean time to time but that's just for a bit) I never had problems with Sony mobile devices until now, i had so many of them since Sony Ericsson time.

Thank you for your time hope to here soon and find the solution.

Best Regards

Armend

Thank you @Armend for your quick reply and the screenshot.

Based on the screenshot that you attached, it seems like the left part of the display does not respond.

If the software repair did not manage to improve the touch function I would suggest that you contact your local support team in order to have your phone sent to an authorized service center. If you have any questions regarding the service, such as routines, warranty and consumer laws, these type of questions are best answered by your local support team as well, as they vary between markets.

Have a nice day and let me know if there is anything else i can help you with!
