Yesterday i bought the XZ3. Since today im using the phone but now and then it freezes, resulting in a System UI has stopped working.

I experienced this while making a video call in whatsapp, while using the bokeh app and while using the camera app. Also one time with another app, but I cant remember which but it uses no camera.

Since all apps, but the last one, use the camera it is obvious that the camera is the problem. However i cant imagine Sony not testing such a main part of the Phone. I know the XZ3 has its child issues since it git releases yesterday, so i dont get angry, but Sony fix this problem.

Edit: i've update my system and apps.

Thanks in advance

You have put a lot of effort on the system and a lot of effort as well to report the issue.

To get some insight in what is or is not going wrong you can open the support app.

The main page shows app issues.

Maybe you can find out there what's going wrong.

Other possible action:

You can try to replicate the issue and create a bug report, take up contact with support and send the bug report to Sony.

A little update, the camera cant open in other apps like whatsapp. I tried the following steps without result.

1. Clearing camera app cache

2. Clearing involved apps cache

3. Reinstaling involved apps

4. Rebooting in safe mode

5. Repairing the device with Xperia Companion

Nothing helps to tackle this issue. Any other solutions? I also found this site. It looks like it concerns Android 9.0.

https://support.google.com/pixelphone/forum/AAAAb4-OgUsrzzSPZIPAfg/?hl=by

Im starring to get frustated. Why spent such a great amount of money without a proper product. Hope anyone or sony has another solution.

One more thing to try, or two.

- Did you restore all apps after the software repair? Did you test it with the minumum and apps you cannot live without? As clean as possible?

- Does it happen when you do not have an SD card in your phone? A faulty SD card can cause strange behaviour.

- Yes, after the software repair i tried with minimum apps. Did not help.

-I dont work with a SD card yet. Just the internal memory.

Pfew, you did try everything.

I suppose support app is the next and best step.

In the support app you can contact local support by mail, chat and phone.

I'd say: go for it!

And please report back later how it ended, or maybe restarted.
