Hi I have got a Sony Xperia xz why does it keep doing updates how many software updates does it do and how long does it take to do all the updates

How long it takes to do the updates will depend on the speed of your Internet connection as you will have to download them to the device before you can install the updates.

The Xperia XZ has received around 12-14 updates since it was released and depending on how far back you are in the update cycle, it could take some time.

If you have a new device that you have not setup at all, the fastest way is to perform a software repair using Xperia Companion as this will install the latest available update directly, but do note that all data on the internal storage will be deleted.

I hope that helps and the latest verison for most Xperia XZ devices is called 47.1.A.12.270.
