Configuration Extension

I can't use this app. Going to Settings - Lock screen & security - Device admin apps and select Configuration Extension and select "activate this device admin app" but it doesn't activate. How can I get activate? Or need root?

As the screenshot say are you using the phone as the owner? (Settings>system>advanced>users>administrator).

But I've just discovered it needs a computer app like Android Device Owner Environment

Well, I don't have any other app and I can turn on the Configuration Extension in the Device Admin

Apps screen. I was also reading in Google Play about the Configuration Extension app and it does say that it must be used in combination with an EEM (Enterprise Mobility Management).

wich Xperia phone do you own?
Mine is a XZ1 with Android 9.0. Whenever I try to enable Confifguration Extension in Administrative Apps it doesn't turn ON.. while opening the app itselfs displays that it needs to be run in Owner mode

I own a XZ Premium also with Pie (same firmware as XZ1). When I turn on the Configuration Extension in Administrative apps it takes me to a screen with the explanation to what the activation of the app allows and with the option to activate the app or cancel, I didn't go any further as I don't want to activate it. Did you got that far?

Yes, already only single user (he is mine) administrator. As everything should be but it doesn't activate. What can i do?

I get the same thing. I'm the only user on the phone, but it keeps saying the same message as the original post

I had the same issue and I've discovered that it's a remote operating app that allows a third party Sony for example to control the phone in anyway it desires. I myself am not enabling it.. It does nothing specific apart from keeping the phone awake controlling the apps etc etc
