Ear Speaker not working

Hi,

Before I place a repair case for my phone can does anyone know why my ear speaker would stop working. Seems to be since the last update which went on my phone on Friday night. Loud speaker and headphones work but there is nothign coning through the ear speaker at all.

Try testing it from Settings -> Support -> Tests -> Ear speaker.

Also, restart your phone into the safe mode and check if the issue persists.

Thanks for replying,

I have tried diagnostics and still no sound also. Restarted and also rebuilt phone with no luck either.

Nope, aint had much water round here lately. It was working no problem till Saturday then just suddenly stopped.

Well, you can do one last try before you send it to service: perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory. Don't forget to backup using Xperia Companion, but preferably without adding apps or settings to the backup.

I have been trying the PC companion rebuild but getting stuck. It downloads the software but when trying to get into the flash mode it detects the device as a SOMC flash device but doesnt seem to load the driver and I cannot force it anyhow. Any ideas.

Are you using PC Companion? You should move to Xperia Companion as the former was discontinued some time ago.

Thanks for the help. Yes I was using Xperia companion but it was not picking up the phone in flash boot. Coincidentally I by habit picked up the phone tonight and the ear speaker has started working again so will be leaving as is

Hi everyone.

I am facing the same issue since sunday, without warning, the internal speaker is not working.

This morning there was a software update that I installed right away, with no luck.

I therefore did a factory reset, without much results.

Is there anybody with a solution or the same issue?

Mine either. Repairing software and rebooting on safe mode not working.
