Help this is driving me nuts. Bluetooth in the car doesnt make ringing sound whilst calling out.

Everything else works fine, i can receive calls and the ringing comes through the cars speakers but outgoing calls are silent until they are answered. Of course i don't know they have answered and can only speak when they say hello. I used my wife's S8 at it works fine. It did ring once but never since. I have Android 8, and have tried safe mode to no avail, also in developer mode switched between 1.4/1.5/1.6 versions each time re pairing both car and device. What am i missing !! My wifes phone by default is set to use AVRCP v1.4 so I have matched all her settings and still it wont ringout
