XPERIA XZ1 Battery draining and getting warm even though when we dont use it

Im using Xperia XZ1 for 1 month more less

For a couple of weeks it works fine, and then when I was using it for playing a game (LineageII Revolution) it's getting hot and the battery drained so fast, and then I turned off and charged it until full, after that the problem starts until now

The phone is getting warm even though i dont use it, also its getting hot when I charge it, im using QC 3.0 and i also try to not use QC it is UCH20, but its still the same

The battery drains so fast as well, from 4 Or 5 hours for Screen on time, becomes not more than 4 hours 3,5hours more less

I already checked all my app which is running on the background but its useless, i change my phone setting its still the same

And I factory reset twice and it didnt work

I think the software is broken, and then I Software Repair from Xperia Companion through PC, but it didnt help

I checked my CPU with CPUZ, it should be Deepsleep when I dont use any app and it should be showing 0ghs or sleep status for the CPU Cores, but it shows 300ghz when i dont use any app, it cant sleep until 0ghz

Hello @RizkyRizz;

It is normal for the phone to get hot when you are playing CPU demanding games, however when on idling for some time it should not be hot depending on ambient temperature.

Also depending on your installed apps, phone configuration and use it may not be bad 4 hours sot.

Regarding the CPU frequency it is normal for the SD835 showing always 300Mhz on every core even on idle, it never shows 0Mhz (my XZ Premium behaves the same way).

If you already made a repair with XC and it behaves the same way, if you think it may have a problem (it may not have) the next step is contact your local Xperia support team.

But is it normal if our battery drops every couple hours?

I found it dropped from 100% to 85% when I left my phone at night when i was sleeping, and when I woke up it dropped 15% more less, 1st time when i use XZ1 after I bought it, it worked normaly, i mean the battery is strong, but now I find out it drains easily even after I change my setting, uninstal several app, and Factory reset/Software repair

Before i use XZ1, i was using XZ, and the battery when it was idle, it did not drop easily

I have the same situation with the battery, it falls by 15-17% per night, I do not know what it is connected with, but I suspect that the problem is in the last update.

You mean Security patch for March?

It happens before the update coming tho

I assume that this is about the battery quality, my phone worked fine before its getting hot after i used it for playing game, and maybe the Heat maybe damage the battery

But i check through app and Battery test, and it says my battery is still Good condition, i charge very fast as well when i use QC 3.0

I've changed also several setting to reduce Battery consumption, i uninstal several app as well, only 2 games now in my phone, last time they were 6 games

Any suggestions or thoughts?

47.1.A.12.75 Here on this firmware I have such an incident, but the battery was not heated. Maybe it's a marriage of batteries?

If it was for lineage a full system restor with erase would help, even thou, the SD835 shoudn't go warm even in on-line rpg's. I playied a lot HIT, Furious Wings and RR3 on high settings and it didn't got warm even after 1,5 hours non-stop.
That occurs a temperature might uncovered a faulty accu which damaged after long time beeing heat-up.
So Sony Support service via Xperia Care is your best choice for now.

There is nothing more you can do, as I told you if you think your phone has a problem it's time to contact your local Sony Support Team (you can do it within the Support app) so they can check your phone.

I will do if Sony Mobile is in my country since they are out after Z5 series tho

I bought this phone when I was traveling at Singapore

I move from XZ to XZ1 because this series is the last Xperia flagship puts a 3,5mm jack to their phone, XZ2 series dont have 3,5mm jack

So this is my assumption

The problem occured since I played game LineageII Revolution with highest setting (i think SD835 can handle that) and made my phone getting hotter before I charged it, and I after I charged it when I was sleeping and next morning I checked my phone, it behaves differently, the battery drops every couple minutes even though i dont use it (idle position) and its getting warm as well

I did Factory reset twice already, Software repair through Xperia Companion, but its not working, the problem still happens

I did Safe Mode several times, and still same

Change the setting tp reduce the battery consumption, but its like useless

I did a calibration battery, make it 0% and then charged it to 100% off position

I check the temperature, sometimes it reaches more than 50°Celcius when I play a game with it

Last time, 1st and 2nd week after I bought this phone, it can get more than 4-5 hours SOT even with playing games

But now its only 3-3,5 hours

And the battery drops easily even in idle position

So my conclusion is, my battery is broken or maybe SD835, cause the heat last time

But is it that fragile hardware from Sony? I mean I use Xperia before since Sony Erricson, but i only get this problem now

I already contact Sony through email yesterday and tell my problem, hope they will give me a good solution

I hope you all guys keep giving me a solution as well, and i will try it

Well,
as said above, from User point of view, there's nothing much You can do more. Keep charging normally, try "battery protection ON" and "Stamina, always ON", and wait till Sony responds.
Only a professional service can safely open the device and check battery with Amp-device to see if it loses power by itself and is faulty.
If a software issue, in 95% cases a software repair and reboot helps, so it has to be hardware in your case.
Playing games can drastically decrease battery life, but should go back to normal (bout 2 days 22 min on Stamina, and 1 day 40 min without stamina ON - on single charge, depending on model You have, Single SIM, Dual-SIM hybrid, rev1, rev2, rev3, rev4-2018, and so on.. As many countries there, that many xperias available you wouldn't even know exist), after closing the app, and full charge.

Also if software is reinstalled, a case with cleaning app memory and settings is not a case anymore, sometimes clear app data and cache helps if app is unstable or behaves ubnormal.

I really dont have any idea, almost all advices and method i did but its still the same

Anyway Im still curious about my probl, whether it is software issue or hardware issue
