I tried it while keeping the phone in the freezer and I got above 85 percent at all times(pic not attached). I was even able to play PUBG at medium settings wiggle without lag in the freezer. How to get around this?

This happens because phone lowers CPU frequency to stay within reasonable temperature.

To get better performance you would need to improve CPU cooling.

You can usually get somewhat better performance by replacing thermal paste on a cpu. But you need to disassemble phone to do this and you will probably lose your warranty.

If you have a phone case try testing without it, sometimes phone cases can hinder cooling.

This happen on sony xperia mobile only(OVERHEAT) , even my old samsung s6, 8CORE cpu never reach 45°celcius on full load cpu PUBG. Sony dont care their old device. Same problem on xzs forum. Btw, someone in xda forum has solution. The only u can do is ROOT and delete temperature thermal. 2nd=set cpu 1. 2ghz 1.2ghz 1.5ghz 1.5ghz. By this, cpu stay on 70c- 75°c without any drop framerate PUBG on high setting.

It doesn't even matter if it's accurate or not! You don't need to monitor the situation to see whether it's throttling or not because clearly, the phone lags like crazy and it's definitely throttling!
