After the update to 47.1.A.12.145 last week, I now have multiple problems that did not previously exist on my XZ1 compact:

1) Wifi is now intermittent. At my home (which I've never had problems with the Wifi before, either with this device or any other), I now get occasional Wifi dropouts on this XZ1 Compact device only.

2) Bluetooth is now intermittent. My car has hands-free phone connection via Bluetooth. Again, it has always been solid until this update - now I can see the bluetooth connect then disconnect, then a few minutes later, connect again, then disconnect sometime later, etc.

3) Most importantly - GPS is completely broken. Multiple GPS diagnostic apps indicate that 0 satellites are locked, even when standing outside with no tree/building obstructions, and of course location services are enabled. Again, this was fine before the upgrade.

Is there some way to downgrade to the previous version (in my case 47.1.A.12.119)? I have seen other complaints about that version, but at least for me, everything was fine prior to the upgrade to .145.

I have the XZ1 Compact and it was working really well until this most recent update, 47.1.A.12.145.

Now I am having the same problems you list, most notably, the bluetooth and GPS connectivity issues.

I have contacted Sony Support and they were able to provide me with a disappointing solution -

I haven't confirmed it yet, but according to Sony, you should be able to reload the OS from a computer, and that will repair the bluetooth and GPS, but will also require you to run a Backup and Restore of your data on the device.

I will update again once I've confirmed this works.

They need to allow us to Opt-Out of system updates, and also clearly need to do a better job at testing and pushing out updates.

Since Feb 2018 (over the last 3 months), Sony has released 5 updates. At that rate, we're looking at 20+ updates a year, IMO this is too many, or suggests they need better QA for their updates.

Please do let me/us know if the restore from PC works to fix these annoying issues with the latest update. I think the reason there are so many updates in a year is that they include the monthly Android security patches, but it's not great that they seem to introduce bugs (and no option to roll back to a previous version).
