Phone does charge but iMac (High Sierra) does not recognize the phone

When connected with USB cable, XperiaCompanion on iMac OS High Sierra does not detect the connection. Even on the phone, the USB settings say «Nothing connected» (my device is set on French language; here I translate). I reinstalled XperiaCompanion twice, shut the firewall, no improvement.

Just wondering, are you using Sony's usb cable or a third party cable?

I am using the Sony's usb cable.

Maybe the problem is with de usb connection mode?

The User Guide says that the phone should be set on "Transfer files"

But there is nothing in the status bar I could tap to change the mode.

And, when I connect the shut phone to computer, it is automatically put on charge.
