It also doe when playing music on my Bose Soundlink mini II, as well as my Plantronics BackBeat pros!

Haven't tried it in safe mode, but I haven't installed any new applications prior to or since updating to Orio. Also the volume control now only works erratically. I'm able to turn the volume down using the physical volume control on the handset, but not up. I can turn the volume both up and down from the UI without any problems and from a speaker or Bluetooth headset. I'll try this out in safe mode and get back to you but don't think it's an app unless there's been some kind of radical overhaul in the API's being used that's messing with Google's own apps!

It's probably worth trying in safe mode anyway, as some of the applications you have might have strange interactions with Android 8, that they did not have on 7.

If you are still experiencing the same problems in safe mode then I recommend you reinstall the update by performing a software repair using Xperia Companion.

Similar problem here since installing Orio, ZX Premium struggles to connect to into car Bluetooth, I've had to mess around with pairing and unpairing the device several times to get it to connect.

I will give turning the WiFi off to see if it makes a difference.

Haven't tried "Safe mode" however as I'm trying to pair it for using built in calling function wouldn't expect this to be an issue with another app.

I still recommend you try it in safe mode as third party apps may still interfere with the same processes used by the calling app.

If it is the same in safe mode, try a software repair using Xperia Companion.

there has been some information in this forum on fixing bluetooth issues.

Try this...

Before doing anything unpair all devices then reboot....then go to Settings > System > Developer options > Networking > Bluetooth AVRCP Version > try 1.4, or 1.5 and re-pair and see if that helps.

I think YouTube is the culprit! If I boot up the phone in safe mode [or in any mode actually] everything works fine until I play something on YouTube. After that I can't turn the volume up, and bad things start happening. Think there's been a shift in an underlying API cos I can't belive a Google app would be badly written, but then Google wrote the api, so that's that's that theory out of the window

Barry

There's also a problem with the volume control that happens regardless of the state of the phone which is also intermittent. I can turn the volume down using the volume control on the phone, but not up! Ironically the only time the device controls seem to work is when it's paired to an external Bluetooth device. If I connect it to a Bluetooth device I can also control the volume from that device, both up and down, and this has only started happening since I updated to 8.0, but again this seems to be tied to YouTube. Also if I adjust the volume using the external controls of an active paired Bluetooth device, I can then adjust the volume normally on using the controls on the handset.

Barry Robinson

I have had YouTube disabled with all updates removed for that app, and haven't had any problems with Bluetooth dropout or the volume control on my device.
