Xperia XZ problem

Hello

Lately I have not been able to do the following

1) Hold icon on homescreen to drag into remove. everytime i do it the remove from homescreen option disappears just as its about to reach it for removal

2) Google Play search bar does not respond by tapping it unless i click Games / Movies then press on search icon

3) Chrome address bar does not work

Phone has not been dropped and has been in a case. I've had this phone only 5 days from brand new in retail.

When I first got it it wanted me to do 3-4 successful system updates. Current version 7.1.1 advice please?

Hi @dgabriel88, welcome to the community.

It sounds like you may have a dead spot in your touch. Can you please test it in diagnostics?

Please go to Settings > About Phone > Diagnostics > Test > Touch Screen. See if there's any dead spots.

hi cameron thank you for your reply

i cleared all the screen in touch screen test in diagnostics and it passed. there were no dead spots

it worked on the first day I got my phone before i updated it from facory to the latest update 7.1.1 it updated several times so i don't think the initial software was android 7. could it be software issue?

Might be a third party app. Does it cause the same problem in safe mode?

i'm not sure if it's third party related as i have tried factory reset twice and it still seems to do it on 7.1.1

Well, if it is doing the same thing in safe mode and after a factory reset with no other applications installed, I recommend you try a software repair using Xperia Companion
