Music performance when comparing to the old Xperia ZR

Hi, I am an owner of Xperia XZ1 and Xperia ZR. I love using my cell phone for listening to pop songs and classical music, I am quite satisified by the old Xperia ZR which gives clear voices and warm tuning. Though the old ZR is not getting down to the very low freq. bass, the other frequencies are well balanced.

Just get the new XZ1 for 2 weeks: I found the Xperia ZR feels more balanced when compared to Xperia XZ1.
I did the comparison using the same music files, including mp3 and flac files. Same MH750 headset from Xperia ZR, original sony music player, and all of the enhancement settings were off, equaliser neutral.

XZ1 feels like the bass is quite hard and not clear, singer's voice is louder than the background music when compare with ZR, musical instruments like cello and piano not as clear as with the ZR, making the feeling quite "dull" when listening music with the XZ1.

Do other music lovers have this feeling?
Could sony further investigate about the tuning in XZ1?

Have you tried the audio automatic optimization? Usually works fine

Tried, it does a bit improved but still not feels as good as in Android 5.1.1 where you can choose the exact headphone model: Settings -> Sound & notification -> Accessory settings -> headphones -> MH750
