topic Proximity Sensor During Calls in XZ Series

I have a problem with my XZ Premium. If I am making a call using a (wired) handsfree headset I usually dial the number, lock the screen and put the device in my pocket.

However, with the XZ the proximity sensor still seems to be enabled and as such I've found that the screen can unlock in my pocket and allow for the call to be hung up on. Is this normal/expected behaviour?
