Xperia XZ Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0

I downloaded a PDF from the Qualcomm website that states which phones are supported by quick charge 3.0 and states it's up to the manufacturer to enable it fully so I just want to know if Sony has enabled this?

Hi @92,

Xperia XZ supports Qualcomm Quick charge 3.0 when using the UCH12W charger or when charging using the DK60 charging dock!

can I use a Qualcomm certified 3.0 charger and cable that isn't a Sony one?

I would not recommend that you charge your phone with a third party charger and this is also stated in our warranty terms.

This is taken from the English warranty terms.

"Use of charging devices that are not Sony branded may pose increased safety risks".

"Sony recommends that you use only batteries and chargers approved by Sony".

The charger which came in the box with my phone is a UCH20, is that normal or should I be getting the UCH12 charger in the box. I bought the phone from Sony's certified agent in my country. I need to know if that's normal not to receive the fast charger in the box or have they robbed me.

This may vary between markets, and since I'm located in the Nordic region I can only answer for what charger is included together with the phone here, and that is the UCH20 charger.

I would recommend that you get in touch with your Local support team and raise this question with them. They are the experts on your market and are well informed on market specific inquires such as this one.

I've got rid of my XZ now, worst Sony phone I've had, got a Samsung instead and a quick charger was in the box, how do I delete my Sony account ?

Generally you just stop posting and it becomes dormant, why the need to delete something that won't be used and has no bearing on life going forward?

what market version did you buy? Did you buy it from a retailer, or third party? What does the top of your charger looks like?

The one that came with the one I bought looks exactly like this

I live in Egypt so that's where I bought my phone. The charger I got has no signs on the top like the one in the picture and on the side the label says charger UCH20. I bought it from Sony's certified agent in Egypt. The box was sealed. Of course when I was buying the phone I didn't know the difference between the normal and the fast charger. I just assumed that the fast charger comes with the phone by default since this was one of the main selling attractions about the phone.

As @Jonas stated, the contents of the box differs between markets, and the box will always say what's included inside. Just get in touch with Rizkalla, Delta, or iMedia and check how to get a QuickCharger from them.

I'm afraid that I don't have any information on the box content for the Egyptian market, so I'd recommend that you follow the recommendation that I gave you earlier and that @Quester pointed out.

Get in touch with your local support team and they will be able to answer your question on which charger is included in the box.

I agree, I've had several Sony's and the xz has put me off completely, screen stopped responding to touch after 1 month, got it fixed and the proximity sensor doesn't work properly anymore, and the glass front is now lifting away from the body so ip rating is gone. Also I don't like the Xperia home launcher so I changed it to Evie launcher, much better. Pity I'm stuck on contract or I would be gone elsewhere, OnePlus maybe?

If the glass is not attached to the frame any longer, I would recommend that you get in touch with your Local support team so they can arrange a repair for you as the device will need to be repaired.

If you have any questions regarding warranty, local service routines and consumer laws, they will assist you with this as well as they are the experts on your market!
