Display dull and flickers

I purchased my xperia mini from the carphone warehouse in the uk about 4 weeks ago and have noticed the screen is now dull and flickers. The colour of the phone is black but a friend of mine has the white xperia mini purchased from the same place a couple of weeks before and has no problems with the phone. I was wondering if anyone in the uk has these problems and also what colour is the phones that everyone else is having problems with. I dont seem to have the overheating problems that other people here are describing just the flickering screen.

Android 2.3.3 (as no update seems to be available in the UK)

Hi, you could Factory Data Reset phone for a start. It should resolve your issue if it is just a software glitch. Goto Settings>Privacy>Factory data reset.

Be aware that this process will erase phone data completely (SD Card not affected), remember to backup.

well here are the results

After doing factory reset on phone. The screen seems to be brighter but there is still a slight flicker when online and texting. Have just had the Android 2.3.4 update by using the update service program on pc as i still have problems using the PC Companion program. Will give phone a test now with the update in place and see if that cures the screen flickering altogether.
