touch pad not working...

Hi Guys,

My two month old Xperia Mini Pro is not working. I cannot unlock the phone. Touch app is not responding whether unlocking it or turning it off. I have to manually take off the battery. This just happened today. Once it's up I can only use the phone for 5 mins the most then it's back again. I haven't downloaded anything for the past 48 hours. This is so not cool.

Hi, hopefully a software glitch which can be resolved by Software Repair.

Download and install SE Update Service to PC/Laptop, launch it and follow on-screen instruction. Here's the download link, http://dl-www.sonyericsson.com/cws/download/1/110/61/1317636927/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.10.7.exe. Phone does NOT have to be switched on for this process.

Be aware that this will erase phone data completely (SD Card not affected), be sure to backup.

Hi,

I'll do it when I get home but the pc that I will be working with doesn't have the PC Companion on it but I guess it's okay.

Anyways for the past 15 hours I can no longer use the phone. Touch app is totally not working.

Just make sure phone is charged for the Software Repair (hopefully you can do that).

Hi,

The Software Update is successful but still the same - touch is not working. I got a McAfee mobile Security note that says "This device has been locked. Please contact +639087733865 to return the device. Press menu to enter your PIN and unlock the device". When I click on the menu nothing happens.

uninstall mcafee then turn off your phone, take the battery out, press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds, put the battery back on, turn on your phone, and see if it works, if it doesn't repair it with Update Service and delete Mcafee right away

i think the first option is not possible since i cannot even unlock the phone. again, touch is not responding into anything. hopefully your suggestion will do the trick! if it still won't work what would be the next option? i'm starting to think that i have a defective device.

i will have to do it when i get home. i'll keep you posted.

This hasn't fixed the problem. Touch is still not responding. This is so uncool. It just stopped responding and that's it. It's been two days already, Please help,

if you already tried to repair the software and you are not using any protective case that might be pressing other buttons then you need to contact SE Repair Center

Hi,

I visited the SE store and they only do level 1 support (software) and have to send my phone to the SE Repair Center in Manila for hardware support. They will eventually have replace the touch screen and I will have to wait a couple of weeks or so to get it back. *SIGH*.

Hey,

Yeah I will get it fixed but will have to wait for 45-60 days! Imagine that! How inconvenient is that? Now I'm getting used to without my phone... Will have to visit the store today and make a proposition that I must have it before the end of the month.

Hey,

I just got my phone two days ago! guess my argument with the manager worked that instead of 45-60 days I demanded a 30-day repair!

and it's in a good condition! lost all my android apps though but i'm happy as a bee!
