SMS Delivery reports not working?

I was wondering if anyone else has had any issue with the SMS delivery reports?

I've enabled the feature but I can still see no delivery indication in an SMS thread, or even an option for seeing one when you long press on a SMS msg.

I'm guessing you're using the default messaging app?

I never did like that - I switched to Handcent SMS and use delivery reports

in that - very clear.

Also check that your provider allows from delivery reports, and doesn't charge for them - I know Orange in the UK, and 3, both charge for reports, or take them from your allowance.

Then you need to precede each text message with *06 (star-zero-six) joined to the first character of the sms, in order to receive a delivery report.This is not necessary if you're sending mms, as the delivery report should function as normal.

I think that when you first send a text message, it says 'sending' at the top of the message. This then changes to 'me'. I am guessing that at this point the message is sent?? A bit later, and this can be a few hours later, a tick appears to the right of the message. I guess this means that it has been delivered??

So still no solution on activating delivery reports though you can enable it, but not made so you can see it?

A lot of mobile networks don't do delivery report's any more as it clogs up the network with unnecessary traffic.
