Regarding Profile Settings

Hi Guys,

Just let me know how to set the profiles like "Office", "Silent", "General". I could not find this option in new xperia mini pro.

I'm with you here. This seems to be the Holy Grail for smartphones. I've been searching far & wide for this too.

I consider it one of the most useful features of phones past. I know that Nokia (Symbian, pre-Symbian), SE (pre-Android) & Motorola (pre-WindowsMobile) all had this feature. The Nokia "timed-profiles" where you set how long before it automatically returns to the last selected profile is even better.

Just a button/dropdown list to change [ringtone + ring volume + keytones + vibration setting (maybe wallpaper/screen brightness)] really is not asking for much. Why doesn't anyone make it part of their phone or just make a widget to do it???

it gives us many many options to customise it in our own style..

like uliwwooly likes the above quick settings app..but i like profile sheduler..

so android helps us to customise the way we want

Even more superb if it could activate a profile based on an event like charger plugged in or bluetooth headset connected. I remember some old Nokias I used to have doing that.

It's rules can be set to events based so it can automatically change to a profile for example when plugged into charger or when battery low. Looks useful I'll need to give it a try.

TTried them both. Coolmagic not great, but profile scheduler worked a treat. Just need to be able to toggle data (apn) on & off to be perfect. Recommend to anyone who miss phone profiles!

there are many paid apps for the same..but u;ll go nuts if u go thru the settings :smileygrin:

I've just spent a couple of hours trying to get profile scheduler to work. Everything seems ok but I can't get the individual ringtones for each profile to work, it just keeps using my default ringtone/notification tones. Does anyone know how to overcome this problem?

I've set the options for the profiles the trouble is the notification tone. You can change it under main settings or message settings and the app changes the main settings only so my message settings option is overriding it and just keeps playing the same tone. I don't mind too much I just changed my message tone to something I won't get too sick of and am happy I can change my ringtones
