I have a serious trouble with the USB connector. It never charges, however the red light keeps blinking now and then. The phone was purchased in Feb 2011 and hardly used for 3 months. The service centre at Switzerland denied my req

euest to replace or repair the phone sin
ce they claim it is a mechanical damage.I am at loss to understand the provided USB cable is too heavy which means a design fault.Compared to such equivalent models whe
Brein the USB cable is quite slim.Do you have a solution for this as the service centre has asked me to dump the phone.Wow,what a way to treat customers.X10 sucks..... pure waste of investment for such faulty design model.
me
y

I agree with banubalaji77. Though my phone is completely in working condition, I agree Sony Ericsson, being such a top organization, does not have the experience in designing USB power cables which can be supported by a such a small mini usb jack on the device. Definitely, there is a high possibility of mechanical overload and a damage to the pcb. I was such a pro Sony Ericsson fan on all previous models, but off late they are losing their marketshare with such faulty products to market.

After finding out from Sony Ericsson India that such cases is eligible for a free replacement mobile under warranty period is possible,I again contacted the service center in Switzerland since it was purchased here. They finally agreed to replace. However it was a tough task.It is to be noted that customer service is not consistent across geographies.Be aware.Your bargaining power is important in europe.
